Surveys are one of the most powerful tools in CamBuildr when it comes to understanding, segmenting, and activating your audience. Whether you’re aiming to gather quick feedback, measure sentiment, validate votes, or guide people through decision trees—CamBuildr offers multiple formats to match your needs. This article helps you understand each type and guides you toward the right choice for your campaign.
Survey/Quiz
This is the most straightforward format, ideal for collecting quick responses via multiple-choice or numeric fields. These surveys typically include two to four answer options and are used to gauge understanding or gather structured feedback on a specific topic. For example, you could ask: “Which of these issues is most important to you?” or “How much would you be willing to donate?”
The Survey/Quiz type is often used for onboarding users, sparking engagement, or driving automated follow-ups based on answer-based segmentation.
Swipe
The Swipe survey format is designed for maximum ease-of-use on mobile devices. It presents clear statements or questions that users can respond to by swiping left (no) or right (yes). It is ideal when you’re looking to keep the threshold for participation low—especially on social channels or mobile-first campaigns.
Use Swipe surveys to qualify supporters or identify core beliefs and priorities without requiring written input. The Swipe survey allows for multiple questions as well. Please refer to the article "Configuring the Swipe survey".
Sentiment Survey
The Sentiment survey is a slightly more advanced tool that uses a sliding scale interface. It helps you understand where your audience lands emotionally or opinion-wise between two ends of a spectrum. This is particularly useful for political, strategic, or polarizing topics where you want to understand how strongly people agree or disagree, or how open they are to persuasion.
For instance: “How confident are you that we can win this fight?” or “How much do you trust current decision makers?”
These results can feed directly into message testing and audience segmentation strategies.
Verified Voting
When democratic legitimacy matters, Verified Voting is the best choice. This survey type restricts voting to one person per email or optionally by phone number and SMS-based verification (TAN code). It’s used for internal member decisions, votes on proposals, participatory budgeting, or any context where vote integrity is essential.
CamBuildr ensures that each vote can be traced back to a unique verified participant, making this format especially useful for secure internal consultations or votes that need legal standing.
