The Survey block in emails allows you to insert a fully functional, single-question survey directly into your email. It’s designed to boost interaction, collect insights, and guide recipients toward specific next steps – all without requiring them to leave their inbox.
Overview
The Survey block is an interactive block. It appears as a multiple-choice question rendered inside the email body. Recipients can click directly on one of the answer buttons.
Each button acts as a trackable link – when clicked, it registers a response and redirects the user to a landing page of your choice.
Before you land on that page you can optionally display a feedback screen.
The block can be used as a survey or as a quiz.
How to Add and Configure a Survey
Add the block
In the Email Editor, open the Content tab and drag the Survey block onto your canvas.
Write your question
Enter your question in the “Question” field. This will appear at the top of the block in bold text.
Choose number of answers
Select whether the survey should show 2, 3, or 4 answer options. (4 is the default maximum.)
Enter answer options
For each possible answer:
Fill in the label under “Reply”.
Optionally, mark “Correct answer” if you want to run a quiz.
Set a redirect URL
Enter the destination URL in the field labeled “URL / landing-page to be redirected to”.
This could be a confirmation page, a thank-you page, or another step in a campaign journey.
Control results visibility
At the bottom, toggle “Do not show results” if you want to prevent recipients from seeing how others answered after clicking. If disabled, the block will automatically display a simple result chart after response submission.
Technical Behavior
One-click interaction: When the recipient clicks an answer, the action is recorded instantly without the need for a form or page reload.
Data capture: Survey responses are linked to the recipient’s contact record and available in your CamBuildr database for segmentation or reporting.
Mobile-optimized: All buttons are touch-friendly and adapt to smaller screens.
Style: The button colors and fonts are controlled via the editor’s Theme settings or per block.
Use Cases
Ask supporters to vote on a key issue.
Let donors indicate preferred campaign priorities.
Gather data for segmentation (e.g. “Which topic matters most to you?”).
Use as a quiz with correct answers for training or education.
Trigger follow-up actions via redirects to tailored landing pages.
Best Practices
Keep your question concise and focused.
Avoid yes/no questions when you ask for opinions and plan to show the result – aim for 3–4 clearly distinct answer options.
Test the survey email thoroughly before sending to ensure proper tracking and response handling.
