What is the Swipe Survey?

The Swipe Survey in CamBuildr is an intuitive, card-based interaction format designed to quickly gather audience sentiment or test basic knowledge. Participants swipe left or right—indicating a “yes” or “no” (or “like/dislike”) response—to a sequence of simple statements or questions. This format is ideal for lightweight opinion polls, rapid feedback, or quizzes with immediate feedback.

Creating a Swipe Survey

To start building a Swipe Survey, navigate to landing pages, add a survey to your page and select Swipe as your format.

Step 1: Define Your Survey

In the Survey section, give your Swipe Survey a title and begin adding your questions. Each question appears as a card in the frontend and can optionally include an image. Every card has two response buttons: 👍 and 👎 (or custom labels). This setup works particularly well for quick audience decisions and reactions.

You can turn on quiz mode, which allows you to specify correct and incorrect answers, and optionally enable direct feedback right after each answer.

Step 2: Configure Each Question

Click on a question to open the Edit Question screen. Here you can:

  • Enter the question text

  • Upload a visual for the card

  • Define both possible answers (👍 / 👎 or custom labels)

  • Mark which answer is correct (in quiz mode)

  • Add tailored feedback for correct and incorrect answers (in quiz mode)

  • Upload optional images for these feedback messages (in quiz mode)

This gives you powerful tools to create knowledge-based Swipe Quizzes with immediate educational value.

Step 3: Set Up the Evaluation Screen

In the Evaluation tab, configure what users see at the end of the survey. You can:

  • Display a thank you message and result summary (e.g. number of correct answers)

  • Add a call-to-action, such as signing up or taking further action

  • Insert a custom button with a redirect URL

  • Optionally show how many participants have taken part

  • Show how many of the questions the user got right (in quiz mode)

This allows you to turn participation into further engagement, whether it’s mobilizing support or collecting more data.

Step 4: The Signup Layer

Lastly, you can edit the Signup step to collect data from participants. This can be shown at the start or after the results screen, depending on your setup.

You can:

  • Set a custom headline and button label

  • Enable a privacy disclaimer and provide your own consent text

  • Add consents from your Multi-Consent setup

  • Enable auto-submit for recognized users

This ensures compliance and data collection while keeping the experience smooth and engaging.

Where the Swipe Survey Shines

Swipe Surveys are best used for:

  • Capturing quick opinions on controversial or binary questions

  • Testing understanding in a quiz-like format

  • Keeping participants engaged with visual and dynamic interaction
