Would you like to use the interactive surveys and quizzes on the CamBuildr landing pages for your existing contacts without them having to enter their email address each time? No problem!
You can activate the autosubmit function for known contacts. As a result, the email address will no longer be requested, and the voting results will be saved directly in the contact profile.
To do this, first activate the Automatic Submission for Known Persons function, which you can find in the settings of your survey under the Signup section.
Letting the page recognise your contacts
The page needs to know who is visiting. When you send the link from a CamBuildr campaign email or automated email, add the prefill link placeholder to the landing page URL:
?{{ var:prefill_link }}The placeholder expands to a signed token that identifies the recipient without putting their email address in the link. Recognised visitors have their answer submitted automatically, exactly as before — the difference is that the address is no longer readable by the target site, its analytics tools or its server logs along the way. The token can only be read by CamBuildr pages, which is exactly where your survey lives.
A test send carries a dummy token that resolves to nobody, so autosubmit will not fire in a test email. To try it end to end, send the real email to a target audience containing only you.
Sending the link from somewhere other than a CamBuildr email? Then pass the address as a parameter instead:
?email={{ var:email }}This still works exactly as before and existing emails need no changes. Note that the editor shows a warning when an email puts person data inside a link URL, as a reminder that the value is personal data and can be read by everyone the URL passes through — the prefill link above avoids that.
Tip: you can also use autosubmit if you have multiple surveys on one page. Registration is only required for the first survey, and thereafter the voting results will also be saved directly in the contact profile.
