The following types of information are available in CamBuildr:

  1. Core Fields

  2. Custom Fields

  3. Tags

  4. Actions

All of this information is conveniently accessible within the individual's profile:

CamBuildr offers various ways to store information about individuals. Here's a brief overview of what each option is suitable for:

1. Core Fields:

Core Fields in CamBuildr are predefined and include data fields that can be useful in any campaign, such as name, email address, and address. With the exception of gender and country, these fields are free-text fields and can accept any alphanumeric value. In the person's profile, this data can be captured and edited at a glance (more on this in the Person View).

The email address holds a special position in CamBuildr. Since CamBuildr creates a separate record for each new email address, it is always mandatory and cannot be edited.

2. Custom Fields:

Custom Fields, like Core Fields, are fields, but unlike Core Fields, these are not predefined and can be created by administrators themselves. They can be either free-text fields or have data validation (see how to create custom fields).

Custom Fields are suitable for storing data that can have only one value per person, such as membership number, shoe size, or nickname.

3. Tags:

Tags, like Custom Fields, are freely definable, but they are labels that a user can have or not.

They are suitable, for example, for storing interests or general participation in a micro-campaign or action. Examples of tags could be Member, Newsletter Subscriber, or Family Interest.

4. Actions:

Actions, unlike fields and tags, do not store static information but activities. Actions always include a time component. For example, a person has signed up on a landing page, opened an email, clicked, and much more. This creates a complete interaction history for each of your contacts.

In your campaign routine, you will notice that you will work extensively with Actions because they are practical and help you maintain your database properly.

So, what does all of this have to do with target audiences?

In CamBuildr, you can build your target audiences based on all the above-mentioned Core Fields, custom fields, tags, and actions, and communicate with them accordingly.

For example, you can create a target group with everyone who has a specific tag, opened a specific email, or has a specific ZIP code.

You can find more information on this under 'Target Audiences.'
