Want to let users easily save your event to their personal calendars? You can do this by offering an .ics file for download—compatible with Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar, and more.
This article explains how to generate a .ics calendar file and make it downloadable via a button in your landing page or email.
Step 1: Create the .ics File
Use a free online generator like https://ics-generator.de/generator.html
Fill in your event details (title, location, date/time, etc.).
Click “Generate” and download the .ics file to your computer.
Step 2: Upload the File to CamBuildr
You can now upload the .ics file directly into CamBuildr’s file manager via any button element:
Open your landing page or email in the editor.
Add a button and change its action to “Link to File”.
Upload your .ics file or select it from existing files.
Update the button text (e.g. “Save to Calendar”).
This will allow users to download the file when they click the button—on most devices, the file will open in the user’s default calendar app.
Step 3: Test the Download
Before going live:
Click the button to make sure the file downloads correctly.
Open the .ics file in a few common apps (Outlook, Apple Calendar, etc.).
Ensure the event time, location, and title appear as expected.
