What is the User Posts App?

The User Posts app allows supporters to share their own ideas, opinions, or messages on a public wall. These contributions can be grouped into categories, and - depending on your settings - other users can vote or comment on them. This makes it ideal for crowdsourcing input, hosting participatory campaigns, or showcasing community testimonials.

Each new post goes through a form submission process. You can personalize this process and decide whether entries appear immediately or require moderation. Behind the scenes, CamBuildr collects data from every participant, helping you build targeted outreach lists for follow-up engagement.

Configuration and Setup

When you open a User Posts app in your dashboard, you’ll see several tabs that guide you through the configuration.

Overview and Submissions

At the top, you’ll see statistics on how many visitors and sign-ups your app has received. Below, the “Created content” tab shows all user-submitted posts. You can review each entry, see the name of the contributor, and decide whether it should be published, pinned, or removed.

Categories

The “Categories” tab helps you structure contributions into clear themes—such as “Education,” “Infrastructure,” or “Economy.” Each category can be configured to allow or restrict posting, voting, and commenting. This gives you control over how supporters interact with each section of your campaign.

Settings

In the “Settings” tab, you can define how the app behaves overall. You can decide whether posts and comments need to be moderated, whether posts should appear in random order, and whether users can cast multiple votes. You can also toggle options like hiding last names for privacy, or attaching specific tags for internal segmentation.

Submission Form

The “Form” tab lets you customize the user experience when someone participates. You can change the text that appears on buttons and confirmation messages, or require additional information like a personal comment. If desired, you can also activate a “netiquette notice” to encourage respectful submissions.

You can also include data protection consent fields here—especially useful if you’re collecting information for email follow-up or newsletter subscriptions.

Eye-Catcher

The “Eye-Catcher” section allows you to add a banner above the submission wall—great for drawing extra attention or linking to related campaign content.

Automated Emails

The “Automated Emails” tab lets you set up follow-up emails that are triggered when someone submits a post. This is useful for sending thank-yous, approval updates, or invitations to engage further.

What the User Wall Looks Like

The frontend of the User Posts App presents all approved contributions as a dynamic, tile-based wall. Each post features a preview of the title, the author’s name, and - if available - a photo and vote count. Visitors can use the category filter or search bar to browse through topics, making it easy to explore the ideas your community is most passionate about.

If you’re logged in as a user or admin, you’ll also be able to see entries that are still under moderation or have been blocked. These posts are clearly marked with visual labels such as “This post is blocked” and will not be visible to external visitors until approved. This ensures a secure and moderated space for dialogue while still giving you a real-time view of supporter activity.

Integration in Your Website

If you want to embed the User Posts app or its teaser into your own website or landing page, CamBuildr offers a dedicated solution. A separate guide will walk you through how to do this using the “User Posts Teaser and Voting for Landing Pages” feature.
